Once your order arrives, we want you to love it. If you don't, for any reason, let us know. This applies to all retail orders. You have 60 days from delivery to reach out, and we'll reprint your items or you can return them for a refund. Your choice.
To start, email connect@vintagebotanica.com with your order number and a quick note about why you'd like a reprint or return. If something arrived damaged or misprinted, please include photos.
Hung wallpaper and cut fabric are still eligible, as long as the product comes back to us. Every reprint or refund requires the original product to be returned. Return shipping is yours to cover unless the product is defective, in which case we cover it.
Refunds go back to your original payment method within 5 business days after we receive your return. They cover the purchased items plus tax. If the product is defective, we also refund your original shipping.
We currently ship within the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii, and US territories. We ship to APO and FPO addresses and to PO boxes where the carrier allows it.

You’ll get tracking by email as soon as your order ships. Orders with multiple items may arrive in more than one package as different products are printed in different locations.
Weather, holidays, and carrier delays happen. If your order is running past the estimate, get in touch and we’ll look into it.
Lost or missing packages
If tracking shows delivered but your package isn’t there, check around your delivery spot and with neighbors first. Packages often turn up within a day. If it’s still missing, email us and we’ll open a claim with the carrier. If the carrier confirms the package is lost, we’ll reprint your order or refund it.

Collection: The Textile Museum Collection (GW 6.112)
Origin: Coromandel Coast (Madras), India | Date: 17th Century
Originating from 17th-century Madras along India's famed Coromandel Coast, this pattern is a masterclass in early Indian textile art. Originally crafted as a painted cotton curtain, the design features closely repeating buti (botanical sprigs) with distinct spiky leaf bases and delicate, nodding blossoms.

True to historic chintz production, the original piece was created using a complex multi-step process of hand-drawn wax resists and painted mordants prior to indigo and madder dyeing. The result is a rhythmically balanced, refined floral repeat that defined the 17th-century global trade in luxury painted cottons.
Exhibition & Publication History
A celebrated work in The Textile Museum's permanent collection, this fragment has been featured in four major exhibitions:
- Master Dyers to the World: Technique and Trade in Early Indian Dyed Cotton Textiles (1982–1983)
- Old Yarns with a new Twist: Familiar Favorites from the Textile Museum's Collection (1984)
- Seldom Seen: Director's Choice from the Museum's Collections (2006)
- 1,000 Years of Indian Textiles (2022)
The original textile is also documented and illustrated in key scholarship, including Mattiebelle Gittinger's landmark study Master Dyers to the World (1982), Walter Endrei's The First Hundred Years of European Textile-printing (1998), and Rahul Jain's Textiles and Garments at the Jaipur Court (2016).
The Wallpaper
Peel and Stick
A self-adhesive paper with a linen-like texture. The texture shows through the print and gives the color a quiet movement, most noticeable across a full wall. It goes up without paste and comes down more easily when the room is ready for something new.
- Install: Peel and stick, no paste
- Walls: Smooth, clean, fully cured paint
- For: Rentals and rooms where paste-free installation or easier removal matters
Clay-Coated
A traditional unpasted paper with a smooth, soft matte finish. Color sits cleanly on the clay surface, so the finest lines of the pattern stay sharp. It gives a room the familiar finish of traditionally hung wallpaper.
- Install: Unpasted; paste is applied to the back of each panel before hanging
- For: Traditional installations, including full rooms and powder rooms away from direct water
Start with a sample. Tape it to the wall and live with it for a few days, in morning light and again in the evening. Watch how the color and surface settle into the room, then choose the paper you'll live with.
