All of our fabric and wallpaper is printed just for you, one order at a time. Nothing sits on a shelf waiting, and nothing is mass-produced.

Start with a sample. Tape the wallpaper to the wall, drape the fabric over the chair it's meant for, and see how the color and texture look in morning and evening light. Most decisions settle themselves within a few days.

Once your order arrives, we want you to love it. If you don't, for any reason, let us know. This applies to all retail orders. You have 60 days from delivery to reach out, and we'll reprint your items or you can return them for a refund. Your choice.

To start, email connect@vintagebotanica.com with your order number and a quick note about why you'd like a reprint or return. If something arrived damaged or misprinted, please include photos.

Hung wallpaper and cut fabric are still eligible, as long as the product comes back to us. Every reprint or refund requires the original product to be returned. Return shipping is yours to cover unless the product is defective, in which case we cover it.

Refunds go back to your original payment method within 5 business days after we receive your return. They cover the purchased items plus tax. If the product is defective, we also refund your original shipping.

We currently ship within the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii, and US territories. We ship to APO and FPO addresses and to PO boxes where the carrier allows it.

  • Standard shipping is $9.99 per order for fabric and wallpaper
  • Production takes 5 to 10 business days
  • Transit takes 2 to 7 business days after your order ships
  • Most orders arrive 2 to 3 weeks after you place them

Delivery to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, and military addresses may take longer than the estimate above.

You’ll get tracking by email as soon as your order ships. Orders with multiple items may arrive in more than one package as different products are printed in different locations.

Weather, holidays, and carrier delays happen. If your order is running past the estimate, get in touch and we’ll look into it.

Lost or missing packages

If tracking shows delivered but your package isn’t there, check around your delivery spot and with neighbors first. Packages often turn up within a day. If it’s still missing, email us and we’ll open a claim with the carrier. If the carrier confirms the package is lost, we’ll reprint your order or refund it.

Stacked fan-shaped figures inside diamonds of fine line run in even vertical channels through 'Norwich Calimanco', sourced from a length of glazed worsted, ca. 1750, in The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Each element was hand-traced from the museum's photograph of the object to hold the stepped geometry the loom imposed on the wool. Wide ground between the channels gives a room vertical structure without weight, and the flowers read from across it.

The Source

Norwich had wool and wanted silk money, so it engineered worsted cloth to catch the light.

They combed long-staple wool straight, spun it tight, and finished the woven yards under heated rollers or rubbed the face down with a stone. Norwich weavers built the floral sprigs directly into the worsted grid on the loom, which is why the petals step along the warp and weft rather than curve smoothly.

The result was an affordable, hard-wearing fabric that shed dirt and mimicked the luster of dress silk. Calimanco went into gowns, quilted petticoats, and men's waistcoats across England and the American colonies. When Defoe itemized the components of an ordinary countryman's suit—Yorkshire cloth, Berkshire lining, Devizes breeches—the waistcoat was callamanco from Norwich. It wore hard and sold in volume for a century.

Ordinarily, a length went to a tailor, wore out, and was cut down a second time for a bedcover. Eight feet three inches came off a loom around 1750 and escaped that life entirely. The Metropolitan Museum of Art acquired the uncut length in 2017 with funds from the exchange of objects bequeathed by Alfred Duane Pell (accession 2017.268), alongside a matching second length (accession 2017.269).

Nobody cut it, so the whole pattern is still there. It is the pattern drawn here.

The Wallpaper

Peel and Stick

A self-adhesive paper with a linen-like texture. The texture shows through the print and gives the color a quiet movement, most noticeable across a full wall. It goes up without paste and comes down more easily when the room is ready for something new.

  • Install: Peel and stick, no paste
  • Walls: Smooth, clean, fully cured paint
  • For: Rentals and rooms where paste-free installation or easier removal matters

Clay-Coated

A traditional unpasted paper with a smooth, soft matte finish. Color sits cleanly on the clay surface, so the finest lines of the pattern stay sharp. It gives a room the familiar finish of traditionally hung wallpaper.

  • Install: Unpasted; paste is applied to the back of each panel before hanging
  • For: Traditional installations, including full rooms and powder rooms away from direct water

Start with a sample. Tape it to the wall and live with it for a few days, in morning light and again in the evening. Watch how the color and surface settle into the room, then choose the paper you'll live with.
