All of our fabric and wallpaper is printed just for you, one order at a time. Nothing sits on a shelf waiting, and nothing is mass-produced.

Start with a sample. Tape the wallpaper to the wall, drape the fabric over the chair it's meant for, and see how the color and texture look in morning and evening light. Most decisions settle themselves within a few days.

Once your order arrives, we want you to love it. If you don't, for any reason, let us know. This applies to all retail orders. You have 60 days from delivery to reach out, and we'll reprint your items or you can return them for a refund. Your choice.

To start, email connect@vintagebotanica.com with your order number and a quick note about why you'd like a reprint or return. If something arrived damaged or misprinted, please include photos.

Hung wallpaper and cut fabric are still eligible, as long as the product comes back to us. Every reprint or refund requires the original product to be returned. Return shipping is yours to cover unless the product is defective, in which case we cover it.

Refunds go back to your original payment method within 5 business days after we receive your return. They cover the purchased items plus tax. If the product is defective, we also refund your original shipping.

We currently ship within the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii, and US territories. We ship to APO and FPO addresses and to PO boxes where the carrier allows it.

  • Standard shipping is $9.99 per order for fabric and wallpaper
  • Production takes 5 to 10 business days
  • Transit takes 2 to 7 business days after your order ships
  • Most orders arrive 2 to 3 weeks after you place them

Delivery to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, and military addresses may take longer than the estimate above.

You'll get tracking by email as soon as your order ships. Orders with multiple items may arrive in more than one package as different products are printed in different locations.

Weather, holidays, and carrier delays happen. If your order is running past the estimate, get in touch and we'll look into it.

Lost or missing packages

If tracking shows delivered but your package isn’t there, check around your delivery spot and with neighbors first. Packages often turn up within a day. If it’s still missing, email us and we’ll open a claim with the carrier. If the carrier confirms the package is lost, we’ll reprint your order or refund it.

The one cool colorway in the range. A soft blue-grey ground with a mid-blue poppy, both drawn from the same tonal family, so contrast sits at the low end of moderate and the print reads quiet from across a room. Closer in, the drawing holds — the block-printed line survives the reduction in contrast. A large-scale Arts and Crafts floral, translated from a cloth of 1902, on wallpaper and fabric by the yard.

John Scarratt Rigby drew the poppy in 1902, block-printed on plain-weave cotton in London. 'Ragged Poppy' is translated from that cloth, now in the Art Institute of Chicago—redrawn by hand with its border removed, the field tiled to a 24-inch panel. The flower is open and dense at generous scale, and the pale ground reads as much as the motif at conversational distance.

The Source

Eight and a half feet of cotton, printed with poppies and closed on all four sides by a border of paired buds and scrolling leaves. It was made to be spread flat and looked down on. A tablecloth or a bedcover—the museum's catalogue will not say which, and gives the title only as probably “Ragged Poppy.”

John Scarratt Rigby drew it in 1902. He supplied block prints and woven textiles to G.P. & J. Baker, A.H. Lee of Birkenhead, Alexander Morton, and Liberty & Co. This cloth reached the public under Liberty's name. He was honorary secretary of the Society of Designers.

In “Remarks on Morris' Work and its Influence on British Decorative Arts Today,” Rigby conceded the field, writing that decorative art could not be discussed without constant reference to Morris's work. Morris's own Poppy, a design of 1881, sits in the Art Institute of Chicago. So does Rigby's cloth, which passed through the Antique Textile Company in London and was sold to the museum in 1990 on the Kelvyn G. Lilley Memorial Fund. Morris's is under his name. Rigby's is under a title someone thought to give it.

Rigby drew the field to stop at a border. Remove the border and the pattern keeps going.

The Fabric

Decor Chenille

A short, dense pile with a velvet-like surface on a firm woven ground. Fine striations catch the light as it moves across the room, deepening the color. Substantial weight keeps a clean line on upholstery and gives tailored drapery a decisive fall.

  • Composition: 100% polyester
  • Width: 56 in printable (57 in full)
  • Weight: 400 gsm
  • For: Upholstery, cushions, headboards, heavy drapery

Cotton Linen

A fine, even linen-cotton weave. Color prints cleanly while the woven surface remains visible, keeping solid grounds from going flat without softening fine linework. Light in the hand, it falls in narrow, supple folds and filters light rather than blocking it.

  • Composition: 55% linen, 45% cotton
  • Width: 54 in printable
  • Weight: 250 gsm
  • For: Upholstery, curtains, table linens, pillows
